The Psalm, the Apostles, and the Christ - A study of select Psalm
 

This eight-week study focuses on seven different Psalm. But the study doesn’t just focus on the Psalm. It also focuses on the Apostles. How did they read the Psalm? This is a question of great importance because Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would teach the Apostles all things and would remind them of everything that he said (see John 14:25-26). The Apostles, then, are to be seen as utterly trustworthy guides to understanding the meaning of Scripture. The goal of this study is to help Christians learn how to read and interpret the Psalm in a way in which the Apostles would approve. Eight-week study.

The Gospel in Hosea - A study of Hosea
 

The gospel is not just outlined in the New Testament. All Scripture tells the story of Christ and the salvation found in him—and this is definitely true of Hosea. While this study is focused on Hosea, it will prove to be a useful introduction to all of the Old Testament books of prophecy, demonstrating how the prophets preached the gospel in advance. Hosea provides pictures of God—both of his anger and of his mercy—that are seen nowhere else in Scripture. It describes sin and idolatry in unforgettable ways. This study also introduces the subject of biblical poetry. This is an extremely important subject for all students of the Bible because poetry is, behind narrative, the most common form of literature used in the Bible. Eight-week study.

Darkness and Light - A study of 1-2 Thessalonians
 

These two letters probably shouldn’t have been written. Much of the information in them was given because Paul was kicked out of Thessalonica prematurely, and, thus, was not able to tell the church these things in person. Here, we find instructions about how the believer can live in a way that is pleasing to God. We also find, in detail seen nowhere else, explanations regarding the coming of the Lord. The Thessalonian letters leave the reader with great longing for the coming of Jesus. They also leave the reader with a good idea of those things that ought to be done until his coming.
