I propose the following approach to study systematic theology. (1) <\/span><b>Ask God to supply both insight with reason and humility with love<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 There are two reasons why all pursuit of doctrine must begin with prayer. First, we do not want to be ashamed of failing in rigorous, God-dependant thinking. Second, we need the Spirit\u2019s aid to gain the experiential knowledge that the Bible demands. (2) <\/span><b>Catalogue and synthesize all the relevant passages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After praying, the first thing you need to do is to collect the most relevant passages related to the topic with which you are wrestling. (3) <\/span><b>Consider what others have said<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. At this point, it can be helpful to consider what others have said on the topic. The Lord has given the church pastors and teachers (1 Cor. 12:28), so we should not hesitate to use them in our quest for understanding Bible doctrine. (4) <\/span><b>Praise the Lord for his truth and act accordingly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The final step is to praise God for his illumination and to act in accordance with the truths we have gained.\u201d<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"give_campaign_id":0,"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_crdt_document":""},"class_list":["post-4641","reading-plan","type-reading-plan","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reading-plan\/4641","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reading-plan"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/reading-plan"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4641"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
