Furthermore, Christ has broken the condemning and controlling power of the law, such that Paul can say of believers, \u2018You are not under law but under grace\u2019 (Rom. 6:14), and \u2018you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God\u2019 (Rom. 7:4)&#8230; As Christians, our \u2018release from the law\u2019 (Rom. 7:6) in part means that the Mosaic law is no longer the direct and immediate guide or judge of the conduct of God\u2019s people.
