Insight from Jeremiah<\/p>\n
“While there was the potential that some of Jeremiah\u2019s contemporaries would repent upon hearing his words read (Jer. 36:2\u20133), God told Jeremiah that most would not heed his voice, for they would retain the same stubbornness that characterized previous generations (7:23\u201328; cf. 22:21). Moreover, 30:2\u20133 stress that the reason Jeremiah needed to write his words in a book (cf. Jer. 36:2, 4, 17\u201318, 28\u201332) was because the future generations would need them.
