First, we do not want to be ashamed of failing in rigorous, God-dependent thinking\u2026. Second, we need the Spirit\u2019s aid to gain the experiential knowledge that the Bible demands\u2026. Far too often, great knowledge of God, his ways, and his word can create kings rather than servants and lead to pride rather than love\u2026. This kind of experiential knowledge of God is only \u201cspiritually discerned\u201d (1 Cor. 2:14), and because of this, our quest to grasp Bible doctrine must be saturated with prayer.
