{"id":4530,"date":"2024-03-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/reading-plan\/march-21\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T10:44:21","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T15:44:21","slug":"march-21","status":"publish","type":"reading-plan","link":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/reading-plan\/march-21\/","title":{"rendered":"March 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Luke<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New Testament employs the word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mystery<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> twenty-eight times as a technical term for an end-time reality that was largely (though not entirely) hidden in the Old Testament but that God now discloses more fully through Christ. All the New Testament occurrences deal with the end times and are in some way linked to the Old Testament. What was this mystery? In the Synoptic Gospels, the \u201cmystery\u201d or \u201cmysteries\u201d of the kingdom (Luke 8:10) relate to the unexpected, gradual, already-but-not-yet fulfillment of God\u2019s end-times reign. In Paul\u2019s epistles the revealed \u201cmystery\u201d or \u201cmysteries\u201d refer to insight into God\u2019s end-times purposes most directly associated with more fully understanding Christ and the gospel. Finally, in Revelation\u2026 \u201cthe prophets\u201d of old announced that the \u201cmystery of God would be fulfilled\u201d (Rev. 10:7).
