{"id":4526,"date":"2024-03-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-17T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/reading-plan\/march-17\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T10:08:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T15:08:22","slug":"march-17","status":"publish","type":"reading-plan","link":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/reading-plan\/march-17\/","title":{"rendered":"March 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Luke<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God promises to \u201csupply every need\u201d of Christians \u201caccording to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus\u201d (Phil. 4:19). Yet as Paul stresses earlier, we must be willing to let the Lord define our needs, learning how \u201cto be brought low and . . . how to abound\u201d (Phil. 4:12). Today believers look to the Lord for daily bread, trusting that he values his people and will give food, drink, and clothing in due measure to those who \u201cseek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness\u201d (Matt. 6:25\u201326, 31\u201333). We also rest confident in Jesus\u2019s command and promise, \u201cGive, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap\u201d (Luke 6:38). Yet as was clear in Paul\u2019s own life, having great faith in the truth of these promises does not secure a life free of beatings, stonings, ship-wrecks, dangers, toil and hardship, sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, cold and exposure (2 Cor. 11:23\u201328).
