{"id":4516,"date":"2024-03-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/reading-plan\/march-7\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T09:48:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T14:48:14","slug":"march-7","status":"publish","type":"reading-plan","link":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/om\/reading-plan\/march-7\/","title":{"rendered":"March 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Mark 16:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is surprising, especially after the centurion calls Jesus the \u201cSon of God\u201d, that the angel speaks of Jesus using a very \u201cearthly\u201d title: \u201cJesus of Nazareth.\u201d In fact, this is the last title for Jesus used in the book of Mark. By emphasizing Jesus\u2019 earthly hometown (\u201cJesus of Nazareth\u201d), the angel seems to be emphasizing that Jesus is, even after his death and resurrection, a real person. He has a real body and is a real man. He is not some sort of ghost. Christ\u2019s resurrection is the guarantee that all those who are in him will also be raised. Like the first piece of fruit picked off a healthy fruit tree, Christ\u2019s resurrected body is the first fruit (see 1 Corinthians 15:20) of the resurrection. The \u201cfirst fruit\u201d (Christ) is proof that all the rest of the \u201cfruit\u201d (those who are in Christ) will also be raised. Those who are in Christ will, like the resurrected Christ, have real bodies.
