What we dread or hope for tomorrow changes who we are today. As Peter states, \u2018He has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire\u2019 (2 Pet. 1:4). The promises of God motivate holiness and awaken expectation and confidence in our pursuit of him\u2026. To promise is to assure that one will do a particular thing or that a certain thing will happen. God\u2019s promises of blessing and curse play a key role in helping believers grow in sanctification (1 John 3:2\u20133) and suffer with hope.
