And \u201cby sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us\u201d (Rom. 8:3\u20134). The kingdom is already here because Jesus came to earth to appease God\u2019s wrath toward the sin of Israel and the world. Jesus is the Christ, the promised royal deliver, who came \u201cto give his life as a ransom for many\u201d (Mark 10:45). He is \u201cthe Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world\u201d (John 1:29), and by his life, death, and resurrection, he inaugurated the new covenant and new creation.
