Numbers 23:21\u201324 treats the people of Israel in the first exodus as a lion, with the \u201cking\u201d most likely being YHWH, but possibly Moses (cf. Ex. 2:14; Acts 7:35) \u2026 In contrast, Numbers 24:7\u20139 points to a future exodus that will be led by YHWH\u2019s king, now called a lion. \u201cGod will bring him out of Egypt\u201d and use him to crush either \u201cAgag\u201d (24:7), future king of the Amalekites (24:20; cf. 1 Sam. 15:3, 8) and image of God-hostility, or \u201cGog,\u201d the eschatological personification of evil (as rendered in the Septuagint; cf.
