Insight from Acts<\/p>\n
“When Saul encountered the resurrected Christ, the blind man gained sight, the murderer became a missionary, and a Jewish Pharisee became an apostle of Jesus to the Gentiles whose interpretation of Scripture was forever changed. By means of the resurrected Jesus\u2019s appearing, a veil was lifted that now allowed Paul to read the old cove\u00adnant materials with fresh eyes and in the way God originally intended, and in them he found a clear message of the suffering and triumphant Messiah and the mission he would spark (Acts 26:22\u201323). This Old Testament preacher could now assert, ‘I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified’ (1 Cor. 2:2), for everything now bore connections with the cross. The gospel, which is of ‘first importance’ (1 Cor. 15:3), supplied the light and lens for all Paul\u2019s teaching and transformed his approach to the Old Testament.”<\/p>\n
