{"id":4589,"date":"2024-06-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/reading-plan\/june-5\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T06:36:55","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T11:36:55","slug":"june-5","status":"publish","type":"reading-plan","link":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/reading-plan\/june-5\/","title":{"rendered":"June 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Jeremiah<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the Old Testament promises that \u201cfind their Yes in [Christ]\u201d (2 Cor. 1:20) are those that predicted how new cove\u00adnant believers would live out God\u2019s law in the day when hearts were circumcised and when God would put his Spirit in his transformed people (Jer. 12:16). In that day of restoration, all God\u2019s children \u201cshall be taught by the Lord\u201d (Isa. 54:13), and having the law written on their hearts, \u201cthey shall know [the Lord], from the least of them to the greatest\u201d (Jer. 31:33\u201334). In Christ, God now empowers us to keep the \u201cprecepts\u201d of the law, as we live with circumcised hearts by the power of the Spirit. We fulfill the law as we love our neighbor. Christ is our teacher, and his own law fulfillment now clarifies for us what it means to follow God. In Christ we find a new pattern for surrender and service, and in Jesus we experience true pardon, which in turn supplies both power to obey and promises that motivate this obedience.
