Insight from Exodus 9:15\u201316<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJust before the seventh plague, YHWH told Pharaoh through Moses, ‘For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth’ (Ex. 9:15\u201316). God is intent to exalt his power in the sight of all\u2014with every people, every power knowing that he alone is God. He had raised up Pharaoh for this ultimate end.
