{"id":4496,"date":"2024-02-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/reading-plan\/february-12\/"},"modified":"2025-08-16T08:06:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T13:06:20","slug":"february-12","status":"publish","type":"reading-plan","link":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/reading-plan\/february-12\/","title":{"rendered":"February 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insight from Mark 1:21\u201345<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It appears that Jesus\u2019 actions here are intended to be echoes of Jeremiah 16:14\u201321. In these verses, God says that he will bring his people out from the nations and to himself in a second Exodus. In fact, he says that this second Exodus will be so great that it will cause people to no longer talk about the first Exodus from Egypt! How will God bring the people to himself in this second Exodus? He will do it by using fishermen! \u201cBehold, I am sending for many fishers, declares the LORD, and they shall catch them\u201d (Jeremiah 16:16). Jesus\u2019 words echo this: \u201cFollow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.\u201d Jesus is using fishermen to \u201ccatch\u201d his people. If you are in Christ, you are among those who have been \u201ccaught\u201d by God\u2019s fishermen, and you are part of this second Exodus. Christ uses these fishermen to, as Isaiah 9:3 says, multiply the nation. His desire, if you are his follower, is that you also would be a fisher of men.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"give_campaign_id":0,"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_crdt_document":""},"class_list":["post-4496","reading-plan","type-reading-plan","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reading-plan\/4496","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reading-plan"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/reading-plan"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/handstotheplow.org\/am\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4496"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
