This word … likely relates to the blessing associated with the eschatological age. Here, we learn the eschatological blessing for God’s people connects to the king’s confession of sins and his reception of forgiveness (30:1–5) and the people’s prayers to Yahweh, apparently based on the king’s deliverance (30:6). The capstone psalm (Ps 33) repeats themes seen in earlier capstone psalms. The king speaks of Yahweh’s creation of the earth (vv. 6–7). All people should fear Yahweh because ‘he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm’ (vv. 8–9). Verse 10 speaks of Yahweh bringing ‘the counsel of the nations to nothing’ and ‘the plans of the people’ to frustration. This reminds the reader of the two groups focused upon in Ps 2:1. Psalm 33:12 again features [the Hebrew word translated] ‘Blessed.’ Here [blessed] refers to the blessedness of the nation Yahweh chooses: ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.’ This likely refers to the eschatological blessing resting on those who find refuge in the king.”

["post-4484","reading-plan","type-reading-plan","status-publish","hentry
["GET
